Foursaken Feature Archive

Welcome to Epic Week’s Foursaken Feature. As 4th edition already comes with built-in epic rules, it only seemed appropriate that we would hand out some epic destinies. Here they are.

Legendary Conqueror

As you’ve grown in strength throughout your adventuring career, you’ve realized that you’ve come to enjoy your power. You see the multiverse as one large horizon, and won’t be happy until you have control over all of it.

Prerequisites: 21st level

As you begin your career as a conqueror, tales of your prowess and might grow larger and more unbelievable with every retelling, and begin to spread like wildfire. You might develop a cult or following who worship you as a hero, or may even found your own budding kingdom or empire. Not content to rest on your laurels, however, you are always pushing forward, either to overcome the next fantastic monster or obstacle in search of eternal glory, or to conquer the next closest neighboring kingdom. As you continue to expand your legacy, and your fame grows, you become something larger than life, and eventually transcend your mortal existence. Even if you pass on, you will forever live on through your reputation.

Immortality
Legendary conquerors seek to gain immortality through fame and prowess. In some cases, your legend itself suffuses you with a kind of magic, allowing you to live as long as your name is remembered. The following is one example of your final fate, though yours may be different.

Beloved Hero: Townsfolk the world over speak your name with awe, respect, and love. Tales are told of your prowess across the land, and people erect statues of you. Your name is a byword for strength, or wisdom, or arcane might, and young adventurers dream of one day achieving your glory. This love sustains you, and keeps your body going long after your mortal lifetime, allowing you to reap the benefits of your fame, and perhaps even continue your quest to be forever remembered.

Legendary Conqueror Features
All legendary conquerors have the following features.

Legendary Talents (21st level): You gain one 19th-level daily power from any class that has the same power source as your class. At 27th level, you may replace that power with a 25th-level daily power from the same class.

Critical Actions (24th level): Whenever you score a critical hit, you immediately gain an action point.

Legendary Endurance (26th level): You gain two additional healing surges each day.

Signature Move (30th level): Choose one daily power you know. You may now use it once per encounter. It is still a daily power.

Ascendant One

Through mediation, prayer, or deep reflection you have started down the path to leave behind your mortal flesh and achieve oneness with the universe.

            Prerequisites: 21st level, Wisdom 20

You have long been on the path towards enlightenment, seeking knowledge not only of the material but of the greater universe.  More than just a simple scholar, you are disciple of the fundamental forces which shape all of existence.  This path requires great discipline and focus as you embark on your journey towards shedding your mortal form and existing as pure energy.

Immortality
Those few who follow the path of the Ascendant One typically obtain immortality by obtaining oneness, as outlined below; your destiny might be different.

Oneness: When you complete your final adventure, you obtain oneness with the universe and your body transforms into a state of pure energy.  While existing in this form you experience the whole of reality in all its glory.  Immune to the pains and stresses of mortal life, you can embrace existence in all its forms, merging with the very fabric of reality.

Ascendant One Features
All Ascendant Ones have the following features

Move Through Reality (21st level): You gain teleport 10.  This replaces your normal movement.

Ascendant Health (24th level): You gain regeneration equal to ½ your level.

Spiritual Abundance (26th level): Once per day you regain the use of any daily power you know.

Ascension (30th level): Whenever you would add half your level to a roll, instead add your entire level.
