Hello everyone, and welcome to another great edition of Magic Market, where we bring you new magic items each and every week. This week I spent a lot of time looking at some books for Friday’s podcast featuring wondrous clothing for under 2,500 gp. Inspired, I thought I’d do the same. So here you go: a helm, boots, belt, gloves, and cloak for your enjoyment.
Boots of Long Travel
These crimson, knee-high boots are decorated with images of thunderbolts and hawk wings. The wearer of these boots can run for 5 times as long as normal before he has to start making Constitution checks, and may choose to take 10 on Constitution checks made to continue running.
Cloak of Seeming
This drab purple cloak is favored by thieves and spies who wish to remain unnoticed in a crowd. The wearer of this cloak can activate it as a move action; over the course of the next minute, the cloak wraps its wearer in disguise, magically altering the appearance of the wearer, as well his possessions, to more closely resemble others nearby. For instance, if the cloak’s wearer were a human knight, spending time in an orcish temple might cause the cloak to alter the knight’s features and outfit to make him appear to be a half-orc in acolyte’s robes.
The cloak cannot make the wearer look like another individual, even though it could change him to look fairly similar.
Crown of Memory
This polished golden circlet features a large ruby in the center. As a standard action, the crown’s wearer can activate the crown’s magic. While activated, the ruby glows brightly and the crown stores the memory of everything the wearer sees and hears for the next 5 minutes. As a standard action, the crown can recall the memory of the stored data, allowing the wearer of the crown to relive the moment. Once recalled, the wearer may choose to leave the memory stored in the crown or to empty the energy, leaving it able to store a different memory. The crown can only store one memory at a time.
Hands of the Titan
These supple leather gloves are crafted from the hide of an extremely pale creature, and are fitted with heavy lead weights at each of the knuckles. The wearer of these gloves can lift objects overhead with twice the strength he could ordinarily, and thus the weight he can lift overhead and lift off the ground is doubled. This has no effect on his ordinary carrying capacity and does not affect his ability to push or drag things.
This belt is made from the hide of a dozen serpents and has been styled to resemble a snake eating its own tail, with the snake’s head being made from bronze and serving as the belt’s buckle. The belt confers a +2 bonus on Fortitude saves made to resist poison, and reduces the number of saving throws the wearer must succeed on to be cured of poison by 1 (minimum 1 save).
