The Art of Traps

It’s Kobold Week here at Necromancers of the Northwest, which means that we’re spending the entire week lavishing attention on everyone’s favorite miniature lizard men. Now, since this is Magic Market, you’re probably expecting a bunch of new magic items, probably with a kobold twist. Sure, we could make a bunch of special abilities specifically for kobold tail weapons, but if there’s one thing that kobolds are known for, it’s traps.

It just so happens that we wrote a book a little while back, called A Necromancer’s Grimoire: the Art of Traps. In it were more than 50 new standard traps, as well as several detailed and intricate “elaborate traps,” which are designed to be whole encounters unto themselves. As I sat down to write this article, I kept finding that all the traps that I wanted to do had already been done in that book, and since when A Necromancer’s Grimoire: the Art of Traps was released, we didn’t have theme weeks devoted to our new releases, I thought that now would be a fine time for a sample of the book, both to provide some quality traps for kobold week, and for those of you who haven’t yet picked it up to give it another look, as it’s only $2.49. Anyway, here are some of the traps that are my favorites, and feel the most like something kobolds would use.
