Masters and Minions Archive

Welcome again to Masters and Minions, where I strive to give you interesting NPCs and encounters that can be placed easily into your game. Since this week is Devil Week, I thought I would have the encounter involve a selfish man and the devil he made a deal with.

Jonathan sold his soul to an imp sorcerer named Lorix in exchange for fame and fortune. Lorix easily manipulated those around Jonathan and delivered to him the fame and fortune he desired. But now Jonathan is having second thoughts, and has been secretly trying to get out of the contract.

He has hired the PCs to deal with his devil problem in exchange for 10,000 gp.

Lorix’s Tactics
Lorix starts off combat by going invisible before sneak attacking the most vulnerable combatant. He continues this tactic throughout the entirety of combat. If his attackers are close together he enjoys using his fireball spell. If brought below half his life, he begins bargaining with his attackers. If they continue to attack him he attempts to flee.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
