Welcome again to Masters and Minions, where I strive to give you interesting NPCs and encounters that can be placed easily into your game.  This week’s encounter is with the skeletal champion Deathbringer. In life, Deathbringer was a holy bastion of light, a paladin of the Opal Order.  His name was Marcus Sulivan, but to the enemies of the light he was known as Lightbringer.  When he returned home from what would be his final crusade against evil, he found his home burned to the ground and his family nowhere to be found.  He later learned from local townsfolk that his family died in that fire.  Overcome with grief, he took his own life. On the tenth anniversary of his death, he rose from the grave as a horrible undead monstrosity whose sole purpose was to destroy the world he had once tried to protect.
Deathbringer is accompanied by his fiendish servant, a babau by the name of Grix. Grix uses the stats for a normal babau, which can be found in the Pathfinder Bestiary.
If you have any ideas for a Masters and Minions you would like me to do just send me an email, and if I use your idea I will make sure to credit you in the article.
